Like a typical girl, I constantly want to change my hair. I’ve made the mistake of cutting my security blanket (aka my long locks) so I tend to change it up with color. You may or may not know that I have cut and colored my hair myself for the past few years. It’s not as scary as it sounds. I promise! I have been ready to get my natural dark chocolate color back!
My hair was just getting way too brassy at the ends and I wanted to add some vibrancy. I decided to use Schwarzkopf Color Ultime Deep Brunettes Hair Coloring Kit, 3.8 Velvet Brown. After looking at the what my hair will look like on the back of the box I knew this was my perfect match.
As I mentioned before, at home solutions are my jam. I don’t have a sitter so heading to the salon just isn’t a luxury I can take when the hubs is busy with work. The packaging of the Schwarzkopf Color Ultime line caught my eye. There was also an anti-aging keratin formula for grays but I’ve been lucky in the anti-aging department.
Hopefully I didn’t just jinx it.
I prefer to dye my hair using a salon cape so I don’t ruin any of my clothes. Been there, done that. I use two boxes for my hair to ensure every strand gets the proper distribution of dye. I poured the color into the activator and shook vigorously. After applying the color formula to root to ends I set a timer for 30 minutes. Once the timer beeped, I hopped in the shower, rinsed out the dye, and followed up with the intensive color care elixir.
I loved how it came out! My hair color is so vibrant and has a gorgeous shine.
I decided the best thing was to add some easy beachy waves for some flirty fun.
I like to tie up or clip the center of my hair. I generally gauge this by going from one arch of my eyebrows to the other. I part roughly one inch sections, and wrap it around the barrel with some ends sticking out. I always wrap away from my face! I usually curl the hair for about 10 seconds. When it’s time to release, I let the curl fall into my hair and hold it there for another 10 seconds. This helps hold the curl longer.
Repeat all around your head. Take down the top section, part your hair as you usually do, and continue to create curls away from your face.
Set with some texturizing or flexible hair spray if you wish.
I told you it was so easy!
I picked up my Schwarzkopf Color Ultime at my local Walmart in the hair color section. It’s so convenient to pick up while grocery and household shopping.
