It’s no secret that I am in love with the glam. I either go bare faced or full glam. There really isn’t any in between. While I feel confident without make up, a smoky eye is where I feel the most like me. Since high school, smoky eyes have been my signature look. Unfortunately, all the makeup can irritate my eyes and cause redness. No one wants red eyes paired with their dramatic look! It takes away from all the time and work you put in. One of my favorite ways to keep my eyes white is to use eye drops. I love the Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ line because it is a preservative free eye drop in a multi-dose bottle. It’s even the first in the US!
I especially love the proprietary built-in purifying filter that keeps out bacteria and relief for up to 12 hours. It pairs perfectly with intense long-wearing eye makeup looks.
Speaking of eye looks, there are surprisingly a lot of different ways to create a smoky eye. Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite ways.
To begin, prep your eyes with Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ eye drops.
Apply an eyeshadow base all over your lid.
Using a blending brush, swipe a slightly orange toned neutral shade in your crease.
Pat a chocolate brown eye shadow shade on your lid using a flat brush. Apply it up to your crease.
Buff the two shades together in the crease to remove any harsh lines.
Add a dark gold shade in the center of your lid.
Wet your brush, or use a gold pigment with slight rose undertones, and dab it in the center of your lid.
This step is completely optional: I applied false lashes and face makeup at this point. I have very short lashes and a flirty lash pairs very well with this look.
With a black waterproof eyeliner, line the upper and lower waterlines.
Gently tap – not rub – the chocolate brown shade on top of the lower lash line. This will keep the liner in place and from disappearing. I also like to use brown vs. black to tie the look together.
Using the same shade, lightly swipe the same shade with a rounded pencil brush along the lower lash line.
Grab the previously used dark gold eyeshadow with the pencil brush. Apply it from the inner corner of the lower lash line to the center.
Swipe on your favorite mascara and voila!
I love to pair a smoky eye with a nude lip. It really helps the eyes pop. You end up with a super flirty, super sassy, super smoky look. For my lips, I applied lip liner all over and lightly tapped concealer on top.
