There’s something about the holiday season that brings a sense of reflection. We think about what we’re thankful for, special memories that were formed, and who made a big difference in our year and life. For me, my husband, Grammy, and kids are who made my year so great.
There really isn’t anything like a handwritten card. In the age of technology, emails and text seem to be the main source of communication. However, there is something so heartwarming and special about a handwritten letter.
Since handwriting a letter is so special, I want to write it on a one of a kind card. Hallmark Signature cards are perfect for the ones in your life who are anything but ordinary.
I love the detailing on all the cards. They are so beautifully done. I had a hard time deciding between the stunning train 3D design and the Ring in the Merry card with bells. They were both perfect for who I was writing my first card to. Any guesses who it is?
To my Damian, of course! Now that he can read well I know that he would appreciate this more than anything. He gets so excited to read every little thing, especially my notes in his lunch box.
A Hallmark Signature card takes it even more over the edge! Because there are no ordinary people, these are no ordinary cards.
Sometimes as a mom, we forget to tell our kids how much they inspire us. We love on them, we do everything for them, but sometimes we forget to put it down on paper for them to look back on.
When I think of who made my life extraordinary this year the first person to come to mind is my son. Of course, I also think of Paxton, my husband, and my Grammy. My husband works a lot – like 16 hour work days a lot. Damian has really been my someone who has been my biggest helper. Yes, he’s still a kid and enjoys every part of childhood. His personality is someone who loves to care for others. In fact, five minutes ago he told me how important it is to him to spend time with his Grammy before she passes. What almost seven-year-old thinks like that?
He prides himself on being my big helper. He helps me with dinner, does housework willingly (as long as it doesn’t involve picking up toys), steals my phone to call his Grammy, and writes me notes just because. I’m really so lucky. You know how some girls are like mini moms? Damian is like a mini dad. He reads stories to Paxton, gives him goodnight kisses, tries to keep him safe, and asks to help me with laundry. He’s no ordinary boy.
Watching Damian become this amazing boy has been the biggest blessing. I chose to use the Ring in the Merry card because the bells were just too fun. I’m the worst at surprises so I gave him his a little early. Once he opened his card he immediately started shaking it. His smile showed me I made the right choice in picking the perfect card.
Damian reading his card without help, smile beaming as he soaked in every word, was worth everything. He now wants to cherish the card forever. Isn’t that the goal?
You can pick up Hallmark Signature cards in the card aisle wherever Hallmark cards are sold.
