We have lived in my gorgeous home state, Washington, for about a month and a half now. Time really is flying by. I feel like we just were in California last week. For those who haven’t seen my Instagram posts, my husband started coaching at a new school last week. The coaching world is crazy. He was at Idaho State for three days before he got a job offer to coach at Northern Iowa.
Now, we get to live as a family come summer!
I’m actually pretty excited to move to Iowa. I’ve never lived in the midwest so this experience will be great for our family. However, I so love living here in Washington. There is something so magical about the Pacific Northwest.
There are mountains, rivers, ocean, and my personal favorite – the Puget Sound. Another favorite spot of mine is shown in these pictures, Tumwater Falls. It’s where my husband and I got married so it always has a special place in my heart.
It’s a little treasure tucked away in the middle of town. If you are looking for a gorgeous mini-hike/walk with kids this one is perfect. You get to see the gorgeous falls, cross bridges over the river, and see the beautiful original Tumwater Brewery building.
We’re finally settled in to Washington with school and extracurricular activities. As hard as it is to be living separately we have to keep in mind it’s only for three or four more months. I’m pretty used to doing everything myself with his crazy work schedule, but I got so spoiled having him by my side all the time for three months.
I’m starting to plan our summer road trip/move to Iowa. We will be taking I-90 pretty much all the way which is the same as when we moved to Boston. We’re for sure stopping at…
- Mt. Rushmore (I need more Rapid City recommendations. I remember it looking so fun there)
- Wall Drug Store (best maple bar doughnuts and such a fun stop)
- Haven’t decided where in Montana we will stop…
Give me all the suggestions if you have any!
I will be sure to document our road trip for the blog and social media 🙂
